Ed Miliband MP should have been sent packing in style yesterday, at a public rally jointly hosted by DECC (Department of Energy and Climate Change) and Friends of the Earth in Manchester's conference centre. Royal Park School is empty again after Leeds Council decided that the community group squatting the building and runninge vents would not be allowed to remain there.

The team of residents who have taken occupation in the neglected Royal Park School with the hope of reclaiming it for the community may be ordered to leave this Monday by Leeds City Council. If the court rules to evict the residents they could be forced to leave by the next day.

Today over 100 student gathered to protest against the introduction of a fine for those who are unable to attend or hand in assessments by the deadline without mitigating circumstances. They did so despite over a 1,000 anti-fascists holding a rally nearby – a clear majority of whom wanted to march against the EDL and stop their rally. So, what went wrong?
