Royal Park School Evicted

Royal Park School is empty again after Leeds Council decided that the community group squatting the building and runninge vents would not be allowed to remain there.

The group, who have been occupying the abandoned primary school for about 2 weeks have left of their own accord as the council have decided that eviction of the group should be pursued.

The group have made a useful contribution to the space in hte time that they have been in the school, acheivments include;

Made safe broken windows;
Cleared debris from halls and classrooms
Removed flammable liquids;
Restored the electricity;
Had a gas pipe capped;
Tidied the school yard and made flower tubs ready for planting;
Completed some roof repairs.

They have also organised and played host to community orientated events including jumble sales, open mic nights, film showings and workshops.
