On Friday 18 September, hundreds of parking spaces in over 100 cities worldwide will be transformed into parks, reclaiming street space from the car. Park(ing) Day is a celebration of public space and a direct action against the encroachment of the car on public space.

Join us in Leeds, outside the City Museum (Cookridge Street) at 1130 where we will swoop on empty parking spaces to turn them into temporary parks. We will pay for use of the spaces, legitimising our presence, and bring plants, furniture and activities including food and knitting! Folk legend Eliza Carthy has been invited (she will be in town) and may be putting in an appearance as well.

If you would like to help, please come down, bringing furniture, plants and things to eat, drink and do. See the links for more information or visit http://www.parkingday.org for more information on previous events
