North Yorks Counter Terrorist Unit has arrested two or more people, raided and searched at least two addresses and visited other addresses, apparently in connection with kayak training last month.
At lunchtime on Wednesday 26th May two addresses in Belper, Derbyshire, were raided by the West Yorkshire Counter Terrorist Unit.

One woman from a training co-op was arrested on charges of conspiracy to commit criminal damage. She has since been released without charge, but bailed to return to the police station in two months (no bail conditions). One woman who was away is handing herself in today to Sussex police. Large quantities of property confiscated, including IT equipment not belonging to the woman who was arrested and mobile phones belonging to her and other residents & visitors in the house at the time.
One address in Sholebroke Avenue, Leeds was visited by police looking for specific people identified as having taken part in kayak training in April. The training was publicly advertised and well attended. The police questioned one individual - questions included:
- what other groups are they part of
- why were they on the training
- who else was on the training
- were they planning to take action against power stations
The previous day (Tuesday 25th), police searched the premises of a different organisation not involved in boats, but with links to various gatherings. Nothing was taken. The warrant was under the Terrorism Act and is possibly related.

The definition in the Terrorism Act 2000 is very broad,
Section 1. -
(1) In this Act "terrorism" means the use or threat of action where-
(a) the action falls within subsection (2),
(b) the use or threat is designed to influence the government [or an international governmental organisation][2] or to intimidate the public or a section of the public, and
(c) the use or threat is made for the purpose of advancing a political, religious [, racial][3] or ideological cause.
(2) Action falls within this subsection if it-
(a) involves serious violence against a person,
(b) involves serious damage to property,
(c) endangers a person's life, other than that of the person committing the action,
(d) creates a serious risk to the health or safety of the public or a section of the public, or
(e) is designed seriously to interfere with or seriously to disrupt an electronic system.
(3) The use or threat of action falling within subsection (2) which involves the use of firearms or explosives is terrorism whether or not subsection (1)(b) is satisfied.Section 1. -

brave counter terrorism unit today defended the likes of BP & their right to rip off taxpayers & destroy the environment not for civilisation or democracy it seems to most people, but just to hold onto undemocratic illegal "power"ยท.
Peter Sutherland UK cheif in BP & Goldman sucks& a organiser of Bilderberg& has not thanked police cheifs for defending his chums in like Queen Beatrix of shell on this raid & others. He also has commented on how directors of bp knew for 6 weeks that deepwater horizon was having serious problems before the massive spill.
This had nothing to do with Goldman Sucks & himself selling huge quantities of BP shares at a high before the disaster??

Does anyone know the legal definition by which the police can class political direct action as part of the waronterr(tm). Criminal damage (proportionate to dirty coal's eco-crime) with no intent to cause harm to people cannot be considered terr, or can it?
