Students at the University of Leeds have voted in favour of kicking BAE Systems off their campus. The Student Union motion was put to an online referendum and announced on Friday 15th March 2013.
The motion becomes Student Union policy to lobby the University in three areas:
1. That BAE Systems would not be allowed to hold recruitment talks or Careers Fairs stalls
2. That the University should sell its shares in BAE Systems, if it holds any.
3. That the University should not accept any future research money from BAE.

The Let's Disarm Leeds campaign created a wide coalition of student groups to campaign for the motion - including People and Planet, Medsin, Leeds Union Palestine Solidarity Group and even Labour Students. The full list of groups can be seen here: http://disarmleeds.tumblr.com/statements
A number of Engineering Students objected to the motion arguing that their job prospects would be hampered if the ban were to be implemented.
Let's Disarm Leeds now intend to lobby the University of Leeds with the Students Union to implement the measures.
