every year, people around the world transform car parking spaces into parks. Park(ing) Day is a celebration of new public space and the struggle against car dominance.
Last year, over 700 spaces in 140 cities were transformed for the day, and in Leeds, we took three spaces, with around 20 volunteers helping out. There were games, music and food.
This year, we will have performances from Public Space collective make pla(y)ce and Pandemonium Theatre Company, cakes and biscuits, games from Transition Meanwood, and sustainability information from TINWOLF, PuLSE and SURE.
we welcome you all to come down, bringing games, music, food and other things to create a full and exciting programme of activities to surprise, delight and inspire passers-by
