Peaceful Vigil Outside BAE Systems

Date Event date: June 24, 2010 16:00

Tagged as: anti-militarism

Armstrong Works, Scotswood Road, Newcastle (Next to Scotswood Bridge)

Places: newcastle

CAAT supporters, Tyneside Stop The War members and anti-war activists are planning to demonstrate against the 'arms trade' outside BAe Systems Newcastle works, in the form of a vigil.

We will be remembering the number of children killed by armaments in a decade - 2 million! We also aim to persuade the factory to switch from making deasdly armaments to a safe, green and green future for the UK!

Our next proposed date is this Thursday, June 24th, 4:00pm, outside the factory. It will probably go on for between half an hour to an hour, depending on weather. It's not necessary to stay for the full time. We have made, and will bring appropriate banners.

BAe Systems (formerly Vickers Armstrong) is in Scotswood, next to the Scotswood Bridge (Chain Bridge). Stagecoach buses: 8 & 22, Go North East: 31 & 32 can be caught from the Central Station. The factory's on the left near the river, a long building.

We hope you might join us!
