Not our usual meeting but a bit tech/network focussed. All welcome though newbies may find it a trifle dull (for one night only!).

 

Agenda (roughly speaking - will decide at the outset of the meeting):

• Choose facilitator & minute-keeper

• Mins of last meeting & matters arising

• Review of communications (contact lists & other feedback)

• Tech update (feedback from Hyperactive summit, outstanding issues)

• UK Network – we need to contribute to the agenda for the Mid-July Network meeting in London, with a deadline for contributions of (I think) 1st June. One of the key agenda items is around “what is the UK Indymedia Network” – i.e. what do we wish it to be, for the maximum benefit of users and participants (that’s my spin – feel free to delete/amend). And how do we phrase our vision so it works to best effect on the agenda?
  
  

• Aggregated front page (or whatever): After the Bristol meeting a working party (participants unspecified) was enmpowered to make proposals (and presentation) about how an aggregated UK* front page would work and what it would look like. For this process to be successful we should have some input asap to articulate what we would like from this endeavour, so that those doing the work do not spend time working on – and then deliver – something so different that we end up (collectively) spending loads of effort strapping table legs onto a dolphin in the hope of passing it off as a stallion. And falling out with each other in the meantime.

• Plans for outreach: London Zine Fest/Hebden Bridge Transition Town launch.

*I think “UK” was implied. I suppose it could aggregate some other geographic area if consensus forms around such a suggestion.
