First Earth First Tree Planting Weekend

The planned Earth First! tree planting event in January was cancelled due to the weather. It has been replaced with two weekends, the first starting on saturday 27th of February and the second starting on Saturday 10th of March.

WHERE: Staying at Hebden Hey scout hostel (bunk bed accommodation)
Pickups from Hebden Bridge station 6pm and 8pm on the Fridays before and 11am the Saturdays.

COST: £25. This covers accommodation, food, transport. Food will be vegan, and there'll be hot soup brought out to site.

WHAT TO BRING: Sleeping bag. Waterproofs. Good waterproof boots. Warm clothes. Extra money for beer (which will be available at the hostel).

HOW TO BOOK: You don't. We tried it before and half the people who book don't come, half the people who come don't book, it's a load of work for no reason. Just turn up at one of the pickup times.

IF YOU'VE NOT DONE IT BEFORE: It's two days of outdoor work. It's physical stuff, but there are a variety of roles involved suited to most abilities, and you do the stuff you want at your own pace there's no slave driving involved. It's a good way to hang with a bunch of well-meaning eco-nutters doing some positive ecological action.
