MayDay (may the 1st), or International Workers Day to some, is a day of political demonstrations and celebrations organised by the unions and socialist groups.
A group of around 14 people, from the 1 in 12 club and various other organisations have had a meeting prior to this one and we believe that is would be a brilliant and realistic idea to prepare for MAYDAY 2010!
Previous celebrations have included gathering highly energetic parades, samba drums and songs through Bradford town centre.
The idea we have for this year is to have everybody gather at Centenery Square, march through the town with drums, banners and flags and finish at Infirmary Fields where there will be an afternoon of many different music, food/drink and entertainment for the young and old, followed by an evening of live music, drink and celebration at the 1 in 12 club itself.
Please show your support for this and attend the meeting on 10th of Feb 2010. If a load of people show up, this years mayday is gonna be fuckin mint. LIBERTY, EQUALITY, SOLIDARITY.
