A pop up café with a difference is coming to Durham City. Offering meat-free burgers, dairy-free lasagne, and scrumptious cakes without the eggs – this is a 100% plant based dining experience that will tickle visitor’s taste buds.
The café will pop up on the first Saturday of each month for 3 months (3rd August , 7th September, 5th October 11am – 4pm). The volunteer run café offers diners the opportunity to try out a range of animal free foods in a friendly informal environment, and to find out more about plant based diets. The pop up is a not-for-profit initiative, which means that diners can get a bowl of soup, a main meal, a cupcake and a drink and for less than £10! The pop-up uses several local suppliers and some of the food is organic or Fairtrade.
There has been a huge growth in 100% plant based vegan diets in the UK in over recent years, and this pop up offers the opportunity for people to come along and sample something new.
If you fancy trying some iron-brew cupcakes, healthy salad platters, dairy free stroganoff and lots more, why not pop in to our community pop up?
