Intro to Trans Issues: Why trans politics is feminist politics.
High profile feminists such as Julie Bindel and Germaine Greer dismiss trans people and trans politics, and fail to see how excluding trans people from feminism damages both movements and creates divisions where there ought to be unity. This workshop will serve as an introduction to trans issues, and then a discussion about how FemSoc can integrate trans politics into its organizing.
We'll talk about the gender binary, radical feminism, reclaim the night, trans day of remembrance, italian politicians, sex work, the guardian and more. And there might even be vegan cake!
