CELEBRATING 15 YEARS OF THE ZAPATISTA STRUGGLE IN CHIAPAS, MEXICO

The Zapatistas rose up in arms on 1st Jan 1994 to take control back over

their lives. Since then they have been building autonomous health, education

and legal systems. They continue to be one of the most inspiring struggles

challenging the ravages of neoliberal capitalism in the world today

A Very Big Train Called The Other Campaign (English subtitles,

39 mins, 2006) Documentary that follows Subcomandante Marcos

during the La Otra (The Other Campaign), the Zapatista initiative

to start new forms of governance in Mexico and beyond.

We are Equal: Zapatista Women Speak (English subtitles,

18 mins, 2004) Zapatista women speak about their lives before the

uprising and how they have changed since.
