Day two of 'Wor Story' - a weekend of films, exhibits and workshops exploring just a few of the many inspiring stories and amazing events in the struggle against exploitation and inequality.

Today's highlights include:Footage from Kala Tara (2007, 127 mins) - Fascinating documentary charting community action against racism and fascism, fighting immigration laws and supporting workers struggles during the 70s and 80s. http://www.tandana.org/

'The Follonsby (Wardley) Miners Lodge Banner 1938' - presentation by Dave Douglass
This is a restored remade identical copy of the 1938 banner, described as perhaps the most radical union banner of the last century. Dave Douglass will talk on its history and that of the ideologies and currents it represented in the coalfields of the Tyne.

'The Unfinished Revolution ‘65 to '75 - direct action, then and now', discussion with Jack Grassby, author of 'The Unfinished Revolution - trade union and political activity in South Tyneside'

Made in Dagenham, (2010, 113mins) introduced by Newcastle University Feminist Society (£5/3.50 concessions/no one turned away through lack of funds. The Star and Shadow welcomes UK asylum seekers, for whom there is no charge, but everyone needs to be a member (£1))
