COPS & FUNDERS PRESENT... a gig to fund the ace 'cops and robbers' zine...
DIVORCE are a four-girl, one-boy 'nae-wave' band from Glasgow who combined atonal, buzzsaw guitars, bulldozer rhythms and top it off with ferocious, paint-stripping vocals. People have likened their sound to no-wave pioneers Teenage Jesus & The Jerks and DNA, the pig-fuck sonic assaults of Big Black and The Jesus Lizard and modern pro-noise terrorists like AIDS Wolf, Ex-Models and The Scissor Girls. They had their debut release, a four track 10" on spiffy red vinyl, release this summer on Optimo Music, and have shared/are sharing stages with bands as awesome and varied as HEALTH, Todd, Lovvers, Part Chimp, Foot Village and Cleckhuddersfax!!

ULTIMATE THRUSH are one of the most exciting bands to come out of Glasgow in recent memory - a triple-headed, guitar-drums-voice juggernaut of overdriven spazz-core madness!! Taking their cues from geek-noise pioneers like The Locust, Arab On Radar and the sonic signatures of labels like Three One G and Skin Graft, they put out their debut release in limited hand-made triangle-shaped sleeves (and a free download) on Glasgow anti-label Winning Sperm Party - it's a doozy, grab it!!!

BEARDS: Three non-bearded human creatures seize you by the noggin and tickle your blushing face. Odd, inventive, totally skewed and yet still weirdly poppy, these folks have become famous all over the Eurozone for their staccato party-grunts, reworking the stop-start new wave wonk of bands like NUMBERS, AU PAIRS and LUNGLEG into an unlikely dance party soundtrack.
BLOOD CRIPS - Members of The Real Losers/ The Uprights/ Broken Arm, already in demand across the city despite being relatively new on the scene and having played only a handful of basement & other small gigs. Word of their catchy rock & roll is spreading fast; they sound exactly like you would expect a hard-drinking, hard-partyin' LS6 garage rock supergroup to sound. For fans of the above plus The Hipshakes etc.
