We'll be meeting to talk about various books and zines (and anything else!) we've read about the hunger strikes as a tool of resistance. Please feel free to come along if you have or have not read something on the subject, we hope to be able to learn something together.

We've chosen this subject because of the 30th anniversary of the 1981 hunger strikes in Northern Ireland. On Friday 17th June we'll be watching a film on this subject, but for the reading group we'll be talking about hunger strikers from many movements.

There are several books and zines/pamphlets on this subject in the Albert Meltzer Library at the 1in12, so some of us will have read those. If you think they sound good maybe you could check them out afterwards. Maybe you've already read something about the topic, you're reading something about it now, or you would just like to hear about what others have read.
