Via Campesina are calling for a thousand cancuns to respresent the peoples of the world who are left outside the large conferences on climate change, to get our voices heard and unite.

We need creative bods, performers and lots of people who want to have fun and get across a serious message - We will not tolerate banks eating all our money and food - through unfair trade agreements, unrealistic climate change agreements or carbon trading and offsetting and investing in unsustainable agricultural practises whilst stealing all the profits through food speculation.

They have long brought attention to the injustices the world bank promotes under 'structural readjustment plans' in poorer countries in order to neo-liberalise them, but big banks, with the world bank as the scariest example want to completely dominate the world's food supplies - our food - at the same time they ignore the same small-scale and subsistence farmers who actually contribute to cooling the planet and feeding a large number of the world - we will not let this continue.
