Need space for workshops, meetings, gatherings, classes? Want to be part of a project to build an autonomous, non-hierarchical social centre for Leeds? Interested in putting on DIY gigs, film showings, club nights, art/performance events?

We’re planning to open a new space within the next year that will hopefully fill all those needs. However, if it’s going to happen, we need your help.

The plan is to buy a building that will provide free or very cheap meeting, workshop and creative spaces, a venue for socialising and to put on fundraisers, a cheap community cafe and some office space for supportive groups, alongside loads of other ideas in the pipeline. At the moment, we’re producing a business plan to apply for a mortgage and searching for buildings. We meet up every month to catch up and think more about what kind of space we’d like.

If we want this to happen, we need to boost up the numbers of people working on it to make sure we think of all the amazing things we could do and to speed up this process. Also, fundraising is a huge priority and the quicker we raise the deposit, the closer we get to opening the space.
