Transition Hebden Radio, part 1 of 3: Trees
Tagged as: environmentalismNeighbourhoods: calderdale hebden_bridge
On 30th May 2010, Hebden Bridge launched as a Transition Town.
For this 15-minute package, I interviewed 3 of the groups working with trees in and around Hebden Bridge. Treesponsibility are now half-way through their 25-year programme, which they will be celebrating soon. Black Bark Woodlands are setting up as a woodland management cooperative. Calderdale Local Orchards Group (CLOG) have a particular interest in fruit trees, especially apples, and were doing cider-tastings on the day.
If you listen carefully, you can hear the sound of a traditional foot-powered lathe making a table leg in the background while Keith's talking.
This is the 1st of 3 audio reports from the Transition Town Launch. Coming soon:

- Part 3: What's Special about Hebden Bridge?
