Do you want to protect your neighbourhood’s post office, community shops or local pub from being closed, sold off or turned into something else?  Are you concerned about the loss of services and amenities in your area?  Perhaps there are proposals to demolish a building with heritage value?

Delivered by Neighbourhood Ventures, this free training explores the powers and rights grass-roots communities now have to register land and property as “community assets” in order to better protect it and to give time for a “community buyout”.  We will look at what you can do under the Localism Act and the steps residents need to take if they wish to proceed with this.  We will also look at the general idea of “community owned assets” and examples of this in practice including land and buildings owned by development trusts and community co-operatives.

We are running three sessions on this topic as above, all absolutely free with refreshments provided and including times during the weekday, evening and weekend.

IMPORTANT! We need to know numbers to organise the correct amount of refreshments and for organising room layouts. Please therefore book on your chosen session by either sending an email to mail@neighbourhoodventures.org.uk or telephone or text Jonathan Crewdson using 07881 785636.
