Oblong have announced a new course on understanding and realising the potential for change within communities.

Over 20 weeks, participants will learn to understand the needs of their community and the potential for change within it. They will use this knowledge to generate a new idea for a community project and set it up themselves as part of the course. The project could be a one-day event, a campaign, a group, a magazine or even some artwork.

Participants don't need any previous knowledge or experience, just a willingness to get stuck in and change their community for the better. The course is free and will lead to an OCN level 2 qualification in Community Development. It will run from September 2009 at Oblong's resource centre in Woodhouse for 20 half-day sessions.
