The group Positive Bradford has sent a message to its members and supporters regarding the urgent action needed to save the historic Odeon building in Bradford.

The message was communicated through Facebook, and so has been replicated below. Details of how you can take action immediately are included.

"Hello! It's been quiet on the Odeon front in the confusion following the winding up of Yorkshire Forward.

You might have seen the story in the T&A over the weekend saying that thousands are spent on the maintenance of the building each year. We say: balls to that. Where does it go? We challenge Yorkshire Forward and the T&A to give us a breakdown of this cost, considering that the security has gone, and the outside of the building has barely been touched.

We also saw that the Yorkshire Post ran this story recently:

TEN MILLION POUNDS spent on regeneration plans in Bradford that NEVER HAPPENED. More than enough to regenerate our Odeon many times over.

If you're seething mad about this, then the meeting of all meetings is being held at the town hall in Bradford tomorrow at 5.30pm. It is a full council meeting where the future of our Odeon will be discussed, but the public can attend. Please do so, and show that our support has not fallen silent.

In the meantime, if you could fire off even a one-line email to your local councillor to tell them that you support the retention of the building - possibly as a tourist attraction to compliment our City Park and National Media Museum instead of an office block or car park - then please do so, so that all of our councillors go into that meeting tomorrow knowing how YOU feel about it.

This is a big one. Don't let our Victoria down.

See you tomorrow, bring your popcorn and your 3D glasses if you have them!"
