Local people in the Pont Valley have been resisting an application by UK:Coal. On Tuesday the council will decide whether or not the opencast mine will be given the go ahead. The planning officer has recommended that the application be excepted, we need to stop this happening. The Pont Valley Network and opponents to the mine will be gathering to support their speakers and prevent the destruction of the important heritage areas and natural habitats.

Amazing News!
This is great news! I have been following this application since last years EF gathering in the area. This really is a victory you all deserve for all the hard work your community has done in resisting this planned coal mine. I look forward to reading the full report.
Victory!
