On Friday 10th December we had a relaxed evening of mulled wine and mince pies at the 1in12 club, Bradford, to raise some money for TIA Greyhound and Lurcher Rescue.

With a vegan mulled wine, mulled buckfast and spiced hot juices we were all well quenched, and ready to devour the substantial pile of mince pies, spiced apple parcels and cinnamon-raisin-oatmeal cookies.
A total of £31 was raised for TIA Greyhound and Lurcher Rescue, who are based in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire.
TIA takes in stray dogs as well as those brought in by their current owners/trainers. It is the largest rescue/home finding sanctuary in the UK offering love and safety to around 100 greyhounds at any one time. No greyhound is put to sleep once it has reached Tia, unless they are ill and suffering. They don't receive any money from the racing industry, only from donations from the public.
If you've been sucked into the consumer-fest that is Christmas, maybe you could sponsor a TIA dog as a gift, or buy a brick for your gift recipient. And once Spring is finally here, you could have a clear out and give unwanted items to TIA to sell in their charity shops.
